A programming note: it’s nominating week in the Valley, where the various local political parties endorse slates for the November election.
Traditionally we cover these caucuses with same day stories.
However, there are five conventions this week, three are on the same night, and we are down one staffer this week (Ansonia reporter Jasmine Wright is on a well-earned vacation).
That means we can’t cover them normally. So, the plan is to cover the two Seymour conventions in person — and follow up with the campaigns in order to get the slate of candidates.
Jasmine penned Ansonia political stories prior to vacation, and Eugene Driscoll plans to interview the mayor in candidates in Derby after they are formally nominated.
