SEYMOUR — Here are some of the reasons people called the Seymour Police Department last week. There were 232 calls for service.

Monday, July 20

3:17 a.m. — A caller from West Street said a group of kids were running around Woodside Avenue and knocking on doors. A group of four, including a 12-year-old, was located by police and their parents were contacted.
7:15 a.m. — A person from Bunting Road reported her new Honda CR-V was stolen. Her keys and purse had been left in the vehicle. Police were searching for video footage.
9:06 a.m. — Police received a 911 hangup call from Whippoorwill Lane. Police determined it was an accident.
12:50 p.m. — A business owner from Columbus Street reported receiving a fraudulent $130 check from a customer.
1:30 p.m. — A caller from William Lane said a woman broke into her home, then locked herself in the bathroom while holding a hammer and screaming about God accepting her. Seven officers responded to talk the woman out while an ambulance waited. The woman was eventually taken for help at Griffin Hospital.
5:35 p.m. — A caller from Third Avenue said she thinks a person shot at her with a BB gun. Police took a report.

Tuesday, July 21

8:39 a.m. — Police received two 911 calls about an elderly woman who fell on New Haven Road. She was taken by ambulance to Griffin Hospital.
12:05 p.m. — A caller reported that a vehicle backed into his car on Pine Street.
1:29 p.m. — A caller from Mountain Road reported a downed tree. No utility lines were involved. A public works crew was sent to he scene.

Wednesday, July 22

3:49 a.m. — A patrol officer cleared debris off Fountain Lake Road.
10: 49 a.m. — A Nissan and a Corolla collided at the intersection of Bank and Franklin streets.
11:59 a.m. — Police responded to a medical emergency on Walnut Street.
3:27 p.m. — A town hall employee reported that a moped he believed was stolen was parked in the area of 115 Main St. Police responded and determined the moped had been stolen out of Norwalk. Police there were notified.
6:22 p.m. — A caller from Botsford Road reported juveniles were throwing rocks at people walking on a track. Police responded, talked to the young people, and their parents came to pick them up.

Thursday, July 23

1:47 a.m. — Police received a call regarding a medical emergency on Reservoir Drive.
6:33 p.m. — Police responded to a medical emergency on Reservoir Drive for an intoxicated person.

Friday, July 24

4:41 a.m. — A caller from Dolan Road reported hearing heavy machinery in the area for more than an hour. A neighbor was completing yard work and was advised of the town’s noise ordinance.
9:28 a.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Bungay Road.
12:54 p.m. — A caller from Heritage Drive reported downed wires in the area.
6:31 p.m. — A caller from Oriole Lane reported receiving harassing phone calls.
7:23 p.m. — A caller reported six kids driving on the road in a golf court. Police advised the group not to drive the golf cart on the road.
8:05 p.m. — A person was reportedly struck by a vehicle on Bungay Road. An ambulance was sent to the scene. There was no word on injuries.
8:47 p.m. — A caller reported hearing multiple gunshots in the Chucta Road area. Police checked out the area and did not hear additional noises or any indication a gun had been fired.

Saturday, July 25

1:26 a.m. — A caller from Tomlinson Road reported that a man he assumed was drunk tried to get into his residence. The resident told the man to leave. Police said the person was gone upon their arrival.
10 p.m. — A caller reported that someone threw a rock through her window on Garden Street.
8:57 a.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Roosevelt Drive.
9:54 a.m. — A caller from the Skokorat Road said a SUV towing a trailer was losing items. Police located the vehicle and the transfer station. The driver said he would pickup anything that fell off his trailer.
2:45 p.m. — An Amazon driver reported hitting a parked car on West Church Street.
9:19 p.m. — A caller reported fireworks in the Jacko Drive area.

Sunday, July 26

3:21 p.m. — A caller from Clinton Road reported a car with heavy damage driving erratically on Route 313.
4:34 p.m — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Great Hill Road.
