ANSONIA – Here are some highlights from the Ansonia Police Department’s calls for service from July 28, 2025 through Aug. 3, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try to track the case.

Ansonia police received 459 calls for service and made nine arrests between July 28, 2025 and Aug. 3, 2025.

Monday, July 28, 2025

7:26 a.m. Police arrested a 19-year-old man and charged him with two counts of failure to appear in court.

9:20 a.m. Police attempted to stop a motor vehicle on North State Street.

1:54 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street.

2:27 p.m. Police received a report of an abandoned motor vehicle on West Main Street.

4:23 p.m. A caller reported hazardous road conditions on Tremont Street.

4:59 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny on Clarkson Street.

Tuesday, July 29, 2025

12:30 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Pershing Drive.

6:31 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Jewett Street and Root Avenue.

10:53 a.m. Police arrested a 31-year-old woman on Crescent Street and charged her with second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, and disorderly conduct.

9:32 p.m. Police arrested a 44-year-old man on Howard Avenue and charged him with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and risk of injury to a child. Police also arrested a 41-year-old woman on Howard Avenue and charged her with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Wednesday, July 30, 2025

2:20 a.m. A caller on Howard Avenue lodged an animal complaint.

11:32 a.m. Police were monitoring traffic via radar around Franklin Street. The blotter includes 15 “radar” entries throughout the day on Franklin.

1:54 p.m. Police arrested a 31-year-old man on Hubbell Avenue and charged him with violating probation.

7:50 p.m. Police arrested a 30-year-old man on North Main Street and charged him with two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, violating a protective order, disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a child, evading responsibility, reckless driving, and improper use of a license or registration.

8:37 p.m. Police responded to a report of an accident on Main Street and West Main Street, where they charged a 61-year-old man with evading responsibility, driving under the influence, and failure to drive in the proper lane.

9:02 p.m. Police charged a 19-year-old Orange man and a 19-year-old Bridgeport man with sixth-degree larceny on West Main Street.

7:52 a.m. A caller on N. Main Street reported theft from a building.

8:49 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Franklin Street and Jackson Street.

10:25 a.m. While monitoring Beaver Street traffic by radar, an officer charged a 21-year-old man with traveling unreasonably fast and driving under suspension.

1:30 p.m. Police received a report of illegal parking near Division Street and Rutland Street.

7:24 a.m. Police received a report of an abandoned motor vehicle on West Main Street.

Friday, Aug. 1, 2025

8:08 a.m. A caller on Pershing Drive reported vandalism.

1:21 p.m. Police received a report of suspicious activity on Fourth Street.

2:59 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Jewett Street.

4:28 p.m. Police charged a 37-year-old man on North Main Street with driving without registration and insurance, and failure to obey a stop sign.

9:56 p.m. Police were called to Derby to assist officers there.

Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025

8:36 a.m. Police charged a 28-year-old man on Pulaski Highway with using an electronic device while driving and driving under suspension.

6:33 p.m. Police received a report of illegal parking on Moulthrop Street.

7:08 p.m. A caller reported hazardous road conditions on Hotchkiss Terrace.

8:59 p.m. Police received a report of disorderly conduct on Main Street.

11:47 p.m. A caller lodged an animal complaint on Edgewood Avenue.

Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025

1:12 a.m. Police charged a 35-year-old Waterbury man on Beaver Street with driving under suspension and failure to display lights.

8:00 a.m. A caller dialed 911 but hung up.

8:23 a.m. A caller on Vine Street lodged a feline complaint.

11:39 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Maple Street and Olson Drive.
