
ANSONIA – Here are some highlights from the Ansonia Police Department’s calls for service from Sept. 8, 2025 through Sept. 14, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.
Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try to track the case.
Ansonia police received 320 calls for service and made eight arrests between Sept. 8, 2025 and Sept. 14, 2025.
Monday, Sept. 8, 2025
9:34 a.m. Police arrested a 45-year-old West Haven man on Garden Street and charged him with first-degree trespassing, disorderly conduct, and four counts of risk of injury to a child.
11:12 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pershing Drive.
12:55 p.m. Police responded to a report of a burglary on Main Street.
1:16 p.m. During a traffic stop on Cottage Avenue, officers charged a 25-year-old man with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, and driving with an improper brake light.
6:38 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Main Street.
7:40 p.m. Police received a report of illegal parking on Valentine Court.
Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025
11:23 a.m. Police received a report of suspicious activity on East Main Street.
12:43 p.m. Officers responded to a reported assault on Beaver Street.
2:02 p.m. A caller on Cottage Avenue lodged a feline complaint.
6:32 p.m. Police received a report of a stolen license plate.
8:30 p.m. Police arrested a 22-year-old Waterbury man on Bridge Street and charged him with first-degree threatening with a firearm and disorderly conduct.
Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025
11:25 a.m. Police arrested a 40-year-old Bridgeport man and charged him with first-degree trespassing and violating a protective order.
12:53 p.m. Police were conducting radar enforcement on North Main Street.
7:18 p.m. While responding to a motor vehicle accident on Platt Street, police arrested a 65-year-old woman and charged her with disorderly conduct.
11:24 p.m. A caller reported theft from a motor vehicle on Pork Hollow Road.
Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025
11:33 a.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pulaski Highway.
11:40 a.m. A caller lodged an animal complaint on Sixth Street.
1:12 p.m. While responding to a call on Page Street, officers arrested two people. A 19-year-old Derby man was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful restraint, and disorderly conduct, while an 18-year-old Ansonia woman was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
4:13 p.m. Police were conducting radar enforcement on Wakelee Avenue.
8:36 p.m. With assistance from Derby police, officers arrested a 26-year-old Ansonia woman and charged her with evading responsibility, failure to grant right-of-way at an intersection, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without a license.
Friday, Sept. 12, 2025
8:04 a.m. A caller reported disorderly conduct on North State Street.
8:11 a.m. During a traffic stop on Ford Street, police issued a citation to a 27-year-old woman for traveling unreasonably fast and driving with a suspended license.
3:54 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on North Main Street.
10:43 p.m. Police received a ‘lost and found’ call from West Main Street.
11:49 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity near Danielczyk Drive and Jewett Street.
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025
11:56 a.m. Police responded to a civil matter on Hill Street.
4:22 p.m. A caller lodged a wildlife complaint on Vine Street.
5:44 p.m. A caller on East Main Street reported theft of a motor vehicle.
9:44 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on Pershing Drive.
Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025
1:33 p.m. Officers responded to a juvenile matter and a report of disorderly conduct on Platt Street.
1:55 p.m. A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle on Main Street.
6:36 p.m. A caller on Main Street reported intimidation.
6:40 p.m. Police received a report from West Street of a recovered stolen vehicle.
