
SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Sept. 8, 2025 through Sept. 14, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.
Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we track the case.
Seymour police received 275 calls for service and made two arrests between Sept. 8, 2025 and Sept. 14, 2025.
SEPT. 8, 2025
7:31 a.m. Police were called about a theft of copper from a work site on Roosevelt Drive.
2:30 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street. No injuries were reported.
2:44 p.m. A Bungay Road resident told police he had an altercation with a 60-year-old man who spit in his face.
5:25 p.m. A Skyline Terrace resident told police he lost his wallet at Market 32 in Oxford. He reported the incident because he had a pistol permit in his wallet.
5:28 p.m. Police conducted radar enforcement at Maple and Pearl streets.
6:43 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident who said he was a victim of identity theft.
SEPT. 9, 2025
12:31 a.m. Police conducted radar enforcement on Great Hill Road. There were no violations.
5:07 a.m. A Poplar Drive resident told police he heard noises coming from his attic and was concerned that someone broke into his house. Police checked the attic and said there were no issues.
7:38 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Maple and Pearl streets.
10:09 a.m. A resident told police she was receiving unwanted text messages from her ex-boyfriend.
11:42 a.m. Police were sent to Seymour High School for a report of two students fighting.
11:49 a.m. An employee of All State Trucking School on Pearl Street told police multiple vehicles on the property were vandalized overnight, including smashed windows.
3:47 p.m. A Smith Street resident told police three youths were riding their bikes and yelling at residents near a Seymour Housing Authority property. Police advised the youths they were not allowed to trespass on the property.
5:47 p.m. Police received a report of two youths walking on the train tracks downtown. Police advised the youths to leave.
SEPT. 10, 2025
9:15 a.m. A Highland Avenue resident told police someone stole a chainsaw from his garage. The resident called back and told police he found the chainsaw.
11:39 a.m. A Bank Street business owner told police someone was parked in a two-hour parking spot for several hours.
12:02 p.m. Police received a report of a disabled motor vehicle near the Route 8 exit ramp downtown.
6:40 p.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Bungay Road.
7:26 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor, two-car motor vehicle accident at the corner of Main and Bank streets. No injuries were reported.
SEPT. 11, 2025
11:43 a.m. Police charged a 20-year-old Naugatuck woman with disorderly conduct and second-degree assault.
2:47 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Franklin and Bank streets.
3:47 p.m. A DeForest Street resident told police his mother received threatening messages about his family.
5:11 p.m. Police issued a verbal warning to a driver on Bungay Road.
7:56 p.m. Police assisted a driver on Cemetery Road in getting back to the highway.
SEPT. 12, 2025
7:31 a.m. An employee of All Star Transportation told police a school bus was disabled after it bottomed out on Silvermine Road.
10:57 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Mountain Road.
4:05 p.m. Police received a 911 call from a person who said her car was struck in the McDonald’s parking lot on Bank Street. Police said video footage was reviewed and said the accident did not occur on the McDonald’s property.
5:37 p.m. A Balance Rock Road resident told police she was receiving harassing phone calls.
11:43 p.m. Police received a report of disabled motor vehicle on Wakeley Street.
SEPT. 13, 2025
10:03 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Great Hill Road.
12 p.m. A Sachem Road resident told police she was concerned about not seeing or hearing from her neighbor for a couple days. Police made contact with the neighbor who said he hurt his back and hadn’t left his house for a few days.
12:44 p.m. Police were sent to a medical emergency at a residence on Mountain Road.
6:48 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Bank Street.
SEPT. 14, 2025
4:01 a.m. Police were sent to Stop & Shop on Franklin Street for a report a burglar alarm at the gas station.
8:13 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Grand Street and Third Avenue.
11:12 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Bank Street.
11:29 a.m. A caller told police someone was playing drums outside near Short and Sanford streets, and that it happens for hours on weekends. An officer made contact with the drummer who said she practices drumming daily for one to two hours and sets up outside on nice days. An officer said he observed the drummer playing a solo snare drum and it was not overly loud while he drove around the neighborhood. The drummer told police it was a new drum, and she will look into getting a “practice pad” on the days she plays outside.
1:16 p.m. Police responded to a hit and run accident on Balance Rock Road.
4:09 p.m. A manager at Stop & Shop on Franklin Street told police several juveniles riding bikes were making rude comments to customers and refused to leave the property.
