Ronald Allen Ljungquist, age 88, of Milford, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Milford Hospital with his daughters by his side. Ronald was born in Bridgeport on June 17, 1937, son of the late Carl and Gladys (Olson) Ljungquist. He grew up in Pine Rock Park in Shelton, moved to California, and returned to Milford 25 years ago.
Ronald served his country in the US Naval Reserves. A skilled woodworker who could make or repair anything. He had a long and successful career as a finish carpenter and cabinet maker, building many homes in Stratford and Shelton. He enjoyed working on puzzles, watching old westerns, and sharing time with his cherished family.
He is the beloved father of Deborah Boroski (Leroy Childs), Bonnie Ljungquist, and Karen Settanni (Joseph), proud grandfather of Jennifer Maybeck, Jessica Maybeck and Joseph Settanni II, and great-grandfather of Mia DeFilippo and Jayla Vasquez. He is also survived by two brothers, Carl Ljungquist and Richard Ljungquist (Maria), two sisters, Joan Ljungquist and Lynn Gulley (Otis), his former wife Virginia (Bomba) Ljungquist and many nieces and nephews. Ronald was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tanya Boroski, and his brother, Gene Ljungquist.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, is entrusted with the funeral arrangements, which are private.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
