Melvin “Mel” Thompson, age 59, of Derby, passed away from complications of Werneike’s Encephalopathy.
He is the devoted husband of Judith Freyer Thompson and loving father of Madison Hayleigh Thompson. Mel was born in Derby on March 8, 1966 beloved son of Bobby Ann Thompson and was a life long resident of Derby.
Mel graduated from Derby High School Class of 1984 where he was a member of the Cross Country Team. He went on to Southern Connecticut State University where he also became a member of the Cross Country Team before graduating with a degree in Political Science. Mel had a great sense of humor, loved the beatles, running in the rain, and a good ball game.
His service may be announced in the future. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby are entrusted with the arrangements.
