John Bradford Strom, Sr., 85, of Ansonia, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Chelmsford, MA, while visiting his sister Donna and his nephew Louis Robillard, Jr.

Left to cherish John’s memory are his wife Georgette Williams-Strom and six children: Patricia DaSilva and her husband Dan Quinn, Shauna and her husband Steve Morelli, Kathleen Strom, John Strom, Jr. and his wife Laurie, Elizabeth and her husband Scott Louder, and Michael George Strom. Great-granddaughter Vera Marilyn and eight grandchildren will miss their grandpa: Kate, Nora, and Grace Louder; Kelly and Jake Strom; Tiffany and Nicholas Morelli; and Lucy DaSilva. John is also survived by his sister Donna Robillard, sisters-in-law Robyn Housemann and her husband Chuck, and Bernardine Strom, as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Born in Somerville, MA, on April 5, 1940, to the late Kathryn (Bradford) and George A. Strom, Sr., John grew up in Somerville and Billerica, MA, before joining the Navy. After military service, he settled in Ansonia and became the youngest foreman of the Brennan Construction Company. He later started his own business and spent the better part of the next 30 years volunteering for Assumption School and coaching his children’s sports teams. He never fully “retired.” John was an active member of the A.M. Club, St. Sebastian’s Club, and the Elks. He loved the New York Yankees and the Rhode Island seashore and was a consummate gardener and skilled craftsman, regularly lending a hand to friends and neighbors. He loved Halloween and distributed candy to 512 trick-or-treaters a week before he left us.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by sisters Marilyn Sullivan and Ruth Murphy, brother George A. Strom, Jr., and brothers-in-law Lawrence Murphy, William Sullivan, and Louis Robillard, Sr.

John’s family would like to invite friends and family for a celebration of life at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the A.M. Club, 30 Hawthorne Avenue in Derby, CT.
