SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Nov. 10, 2025 through Nov. 16, 2025.

Seymour police received 211 calls for service and made 11 arrests.

NOV. 10, 2025
12:51 a.m. Police were called to Shady Knoll health facility on Skokorat Street to assist with a combative patient.

8:50 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver at West Church and Strider Avenue.

10:43 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Bungay Road.

2:21 p.m. A caller told police a Shephard-mix dog was running in the road near Pearl and Smith streets. The caller brought the dog to the police station, and the animal control officer was notified.

7 p.m. Police set up radar enforcement for 30 minutes on Great Hill Road. No motor vehicle stops were made.  

8:10 p.m. Police charged a 39-year-old Seymour man with first-degree criminal trespass, third-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny and voyeurism.

NOV. 11, 2025
9:01 a.m. A Humphrey Street resident told police his neighbor was attempting to break into his house.

10 a.m. Police responded to the Dr. Cards & Gaming store on Main Street for a report of a burglary.

11:32 a.m. Police were called to Mountain Meadow Cemetery on Mountain Road for a report of damage to a stone wall.

3:03 p.m. A resident reported fraudulent charges were made on her debit card.

3:45 p.m. Police charged a 55-year-old Seymour man with risk of injury to a child and second-degree reckless endangerment.

11:19 p.m. An officer located a dog with a collar wandering on Cemetery Road and returned it to its owner.

NOV. 12, 2025 
1:29 a.m. Police issued a written warning to a driver at Rimmon and Clinton roads.

3:54 p.m. A caller reported a car has been parked in the Seybridge Plaza parking lot on New Haven Road (Route 67) for more than six months. An officer advised the caller to contact plaza management to have the vehicle removed.

4:25 p.m. Police issued a misdemeanor to a driver on Wakeley Street.

5:27 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on Maple Street. No injuries were reported.

11:30 p.m. Police charged a 19-year-old Naugatuck man with illegal sale/manufacture of cannabis, first offense possession of a controlled substance, carrying a pistol without a permit,  illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of alcohol by a minor, illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, carrying a dangerous weapon and violation of a protective order.

11:30 p.m. Police charged an 18-year-old Seymour man with two counts of interfering with officers, improper use of plates, operating without a driver’s license, illegal sale or purchase of a large capacity magazine, carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal alteration of a firearm identification and two counts of failing to appear for court.

NOV. 13, 2025
12:55 p.m. The animal control officer reported that a cat attacked a family member at a residence on Poplar Drive.

1:44 p.m. An employee of Superior Products on Derby Avenue reported fraudulent activity.

2:01 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident who said someone opened student loans in his name.

3:31 p.m. A Derby Avenue business reported someone passed a counterfeit bill.

NOV. 14, 2025
3:08 a.m. A Swan Avenue resident told police a dog was barking in the area and would not stop. An officer checked the area and said there was no dog barking.

3:39 a.m. Police were called to McDonald’s on Bank Street for activation of a rear door alarm. An officer said the building was secure and there were no issues.  

8:20 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on North Street.

11:33 a.m. Police issued a ticket to someone parked in the fire lane at Stop & Shop on Franklin Street.

12:59 p.m. A Pearl Street resident told police she was being harassed, and her dog was being threatened.

2:58 p.m. Police charged a 50-year-old Shelton man with cruelty to animals.

4:40 p.m. A Derby Avenue resident told police her neighbor yelled at her son after her son flipped off the neighbor. An officer spoke with both parties and advised them to have no interaction with each other.

7:58 p.m. A Roosevelt Drive resident told police he was threatened by someone with a box cutter knife.

NOV. 15, 2025
8:04 a.m. Police issued a misdemeanor to a driver on Kathy Drive.

9:24 a.m. A Davis Road resident told police there was a possible rabid skunk trapped under a barrel on her property. The skunk escaped prior to an officer’s arrival.

2:46 p.m. A West Church Street resident reported a downed power/phone line in her yard. Frontier was notified.

6:15 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor motor vehicle accident at Derby Avenue and Cedar Street. No injuries were reported.

8:11 p.m. Police were called to a medical emergency about a female who was passed out at a business in the Klarides Village Plaza on Bank Street.

 NOV. 16, 2025
1:35 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Day Street.

10:15 a.m. A First Avenue resident reported that her car was stolen overnight.

10:44 a.m. Police charged a 30-year-old Seymour woman with use of drug paraphernalia and first offense possession of a controlled substance.

12 p.m. Police charged a 34-year-old Bridgeport man with first-degree criminal trespass and violation of a protective order.
