Bert W. Geiss, 91, of Ansonia entered into eternal rest on Nov. 22 in Hewitt Memorial Conv Hospital. He was married on Sept. 2, 1961 to Anna Lisman and they just celebrated 64 years together. He was born on May 23, 1934, son of the late Berthold and Hilda (Grohe) Geiss.

Bert is a communicant of The Church of The Assumption, a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War, retiring from Precision Metal as a Tool and Die maker. He loved to take care of his vegetable garden, fishing and bowling. In his spare time he assisted the maintenance committee keeping the Church maintained.

Survivors besides his wife Anna are son William B. Geiss Ph.D of Athens, N.Y. Brother Richard Geiss of MI., Sister Betty Geiss of Meriden, Grandchildren Peter Geiss and Katherine Gorman as well as great-granddaughter Harper Gorman.

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home 91 N. Cliff St Ansonia. On Monday family and friends will attend his mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. in the Church of The Assumption 23 N. Cliff St. Ansonia, Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery.
