ANSONIA – The inauguration of Frank Tyszka as mayor is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1 at Ansonia High School.

Tyszka will take the oath of office along with other candidates who were elected Nov. 4.

Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz is scheduled to administer the oath to Tyszka, according to a press release from the mayor-elect’s transition team.

The event is open to the public.

“All residents and friends of Ansonia are cordially invited to attend the ceremony, celebrate civic engagement, and show support for the city’s new leaders as they pledge to serve with integrity, accountability, and a renewed focus on progress for Ansonia’s future,” according to the press release.

Tyszka, a Democrat, defeated six-term Republican incumbent Mayor David Cassetti on Election Day by a 2,637 to 1,858 vote. The Democrats also won all 14 seats on the Ansonia Board of Aldermen, the city’s legislative body.
