Douglas P. Scully, age 64, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his home. Douglas was born at Fort Dix, NJ, on July 24, 1961, son of the late Edward J. and Bernadette (Kavanagh) Scully, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
He graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Business Administration and enjoyed a long and successful career with Reed Expositions in sales and management positions. Douglas loved to travel and enjoyed the beach. He enjoyed any opportunity to debate politics and especially loved family gatherings and giving his nieces and nephews advice. He was a long frustrated Mets and NY Football Giants fan.
Douglas is survived by five siblings, Christine Cass (Jon), Patricia Scully (Michael Curtin), Kevin Scully (Raquel), Margaret Scully, and Matthew Scully (Susan). He also leaves thirteen beloved nieces and nephews, Dylan Cass (Letty), Andrew Wagner Cass (Samantha), Matthew Cass, Mikayla Scout Curtin, Brooklyn Curtin, Piper Curtin, Grace Scully, Olivia Scully, Zachary Cyr-Scully, Alexandra Cyr-Scully, Connor Scully, Madeline Scully, and Ryan Scully, and a great-nephew, Wesley and great-niece, Reagan. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Scully, and his sister, Jennifer Scully.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM. His funeral service will begin in the parlor at 1:00 PM.
