SEYMOUR — The annual Seymour Christmas Parade scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 30 has been canceled, according to parade organizers.
There is no makeup date. Families will have to wait until next Christmas.
The reason: weather.
Forecasts are calling for rain Sunday afternoon. The National Weather Service says there’s a 90 percent chance of rain, most of it expected to fall after 1 p.m.
The following message was sent by the Seymour Events Committee:
While we’re disappointed to miss this beloved tradition, the safety and comfort of our community always come first.
However, we’re not letting the holiday spirit fade!
In lieu of the parade, we’d love to keep the cheer going all weekend long. If you’d like to join us in spreading some festive joy, please feel free to email us a holiday greeting, message, or photo—or tag us on social media. We’ll be sharing community submissions throughout the weekend to keep the magic alive.Thank you for your understanding, your enthusiasm, and the joy you bring to this event each year.
