Raymond J. Schietinger, age 94, of Seymour, entered into rest on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. He was the beloved husband of the late Corinne (Vitale) Schietinger. Raymond was born in Bridgeport on August 27, 1931, son of the late George and Celeste (Hindirer) Schietinger. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force.

Raymond was an electrician by trade and worked at Yale Hospital until his retirement. He loved to argue politics and was an avid golfer, playing up into his nineties. He also enjoyed a nice glass of scotch and loved to travel.

He is the beloved father of Deb Hudzina, Ray J. Schietinger and his wife Diane, Celeste Milne and her husband Robert, Jimmy Schietinger and his wife Cecelia, William Schietinger and his wife Katherine, and Dennis Schietinger and his wife Claire. Raymond also leaves seventeen cherished grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, three step-children, Carl Sastram and his wife Barbara, Barbara Dokla and her husband John, and Renie Mejnartowicz, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother George Schietinger and by his son-in-law Vic Hudzina.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM. On Friday his procession will leave the parlor at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Monroe Center Cemetery, Old Tannery Rd, Monroe.
