Elizabeth Krantzberg, age 90 of Derby, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, November 29, 2025 in the Lutheran Home of Southbury. Born in Boston, MA on October 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Clare (Ryan) Krantzberg.

A psychotherapist and addiction counselor, Elizabeth used her life lessons to help others in their recovery from addictions. She also taught grief counseling at Southern CT State University and Albertus Magnus College. Elizabeth was a caring friend and confidant whose patients sought her advice even in her later years. Growing up in Boston, she was a true “Bostonian”. She loved lobsters, was a talented pianist, loved classical and country music, and was a Willie Nelson fan.

Survivors include her loving son, Chris Sura and his wife Linda of Beacon Falls, and her son-in-law Thomas Remmele of Marietta, GA; 4 adored grandchildren, Ryan Sura and his wife Kristen, Regina Silva and her husband Alvaro, Matthew Remmele, and Joshua Remmele; 5 cherished great grandchildren, Adrian, Julianna and Luca Silva, and Alexandra and Evelyn Sura. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kathryn Remmele; brother, Joel Krantzberg, as well as her previous husband and companion, Frank J. Sura, Jr. whom she remained friends with throughout the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:30AM in St. Michael Church, 25 Maple Ave. Beacon Falls, CT 06403. Relatives and friends can greet the family Friday morning from 9:00AM to 10:45AM in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will follow in Mt.
