ANSONIA – Lt. Joshua Fenton, who heads the Salvation Army in Ansonia along with his wife Tatyana, stopped by The Valley Indy’s podcast to talk about the holidays last Friday (Dec. 5).

The Salvation Army kicked off its holiday giving season Nov. 20 with an event in Shelton. They’re trying to raise $35,000 this year.

The Ansonia chapter of the Salvation Army serves residents of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, and Shelton. Services include a food pantry and rental assistance for neighbors in need.

In our conversation, we touched on topics including the holiday season and the impact of the recent federal government shutdown on demand for services. You can watch it below.
