ANSONIA – Police arrested an Ansonia man after searching his home and allegedly finding child pornography on his computer.
Elvin Agosto, 28, was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with possession of child sexual abuse material, according to police.
Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said another police department contacted Ansonia after receiving an online tip. Ansonia officers carried out a search warrant for IP addresses, which led them to Agosto’s residence.
Lynch said officers then obtained a warrant for Agosto’s home and computer on Wesley Street. A search of his devices revealed child pornography, he said.
Agosto posted a $50,000 bond, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 25 at Superior Court in Derby.
The case was not in the state’s judicial database as of Feb. 18.
