For Seymour Public Schools, due to the impending weather forecast, we will be having an emergency early dismissal. The schedule for
Tuesday, March 3, 2026, is as follows:
Dismissal Schedule
Seymour High School: 11:00 AM
Seymour Middle School: 11:30 AM
Elementary Schools (Bungay & Chatfield-LoPresti): 12:15 PM
Program Cancellations
SONCCA: There will be no afternoon SONCCA.
After-School Activities: Typically, all school-sponsored events and after-school programs are canceled when an emergency early dismissal is in effect.
Important Reminders for Parents
Transportation: Buses will run their normal routes, but students will arrive home significantly earlier than usual.
Student Pick-Up: If you are picking up your child, please report directly to the main office with a valid photo ID. Release is only permitted to authorized emergency contacts.

Based on recommendations from our weather experts, whom we rely on for decisions regarding school delays and cancellations, we have made the decision to hold school this morning but with an emergency early dismissal, which dismisses 1 hour earlier than typical.
The times are as follows:
OHS will dismiss at 10:00am
OMS will dismiss at 10:45am
GOES will dismiss at 11:30am
QFS will dismiss at 11:40am
There will be NO morning or afternoon pre-k.
All afternoon activities are canceled.

The Shelton Public Schools will be holding an extended early dismissal day (one-hour earlier than normal dismissal times) on March 3, 2026.
All Pre-K classes (AM & PM) are cancelled.

Schools in Ansonia and Derby announced they were closed Tuesday (March 3) due to the potential of snow and ice.
The districts sent word around 6 a.m.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Mixed precipitation is being forecasted.
