SHELTON — Come to the Plumb Memorial Library’s Adult section between April 14 through April 24, 2026 to see a display commemorating Patriots’ Day. The Ripton Parish Chapter, NSDAR installed the display to commemorate those men and women who sacrificed and fought for our freedom at Lexington and Concord. On April 19, 1775, the world turned upside down with the first shots at Lexington, Massachusetts, which marked the beginning of the Revolutionary War.
The display includes information on Patriots’ Day along with the names of Ripton Parish Chapter members’ patriots who provided military, patriotic or civil service to the American Revolution. Bookmarks honoring some of the Ripton Parish patriots are available for those who would like a bookmark. You can also take a Declaration of Independence leaflet and a Flag Code booklet, which are available on the display. If you have any interest in the DAR or our Ripton Parish Chapter, please help yourself to those brochures.
