OXFORD — Students residing in the Towns of Ansonia, Seymour and Oxford were asked to write an essay utilizing the motto of Rotary International – “SERVICE ABOVE SELF” – each applicant was asked to submit a 500-word essay that addresses this theme. The essay needed to reflect its personal meaning to each student, relating it to personal experience and articulating the importance of service in life and community, state or throughout the world.
And the winners are:
Benjamin Brejwo – Ansonia High School – attending University of Connecticut / Fall 2026
Jenna Piechota – Oxford High School – attending Western Connecticut State University / Fall 2026
Kyleigh Scofield – Seymour High School – attending Eastern Connecticut State University / Fall 2025
Students are invited to attend a future AnSeOx Rotary meeting to share their essay and talk about their future endeavors with club members.
