Claire McCarthy, a 99-year-old Derby resident, entered into eternal rest April 28.
She was born March 15, 1927 in Derby, daughter of the late James and Delia Kelleher Duplese.
A longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Claire worked as an executive assistant for several brokerage firms in New Haven.
She leaves her son Brian McCarthy of Cape Cod, her daughter-in-Law Marsha Bottom McCarthy and a host of cousins. She was predeceased by her son James McCarthy III, her husband James McCarthy Jr. and her brother James Duplese.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Friends may call at Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia on Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Following Mass, burial will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
