David A. D’Agostino Sr, age 72, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 12, 2026, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of twenty-seven years to Anne (Barone) D’Agostino
Born in New Haven on December 7, 1953, he was the son of the late Russell and Rosalie (Antollino) D’Agostino. Dave grew up in the Morris Cove section of New Haven. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and later the University of New Haven. In November 2011, he and his wife Anne relocated to Goodyear, Arizona. He was employed as a business manager for the City of New Haven Tax Office for most of his career. Dave later worked for two different mortgage companies until he retired in 2009. He played for the New England Pilgrims professional softball team, along with multiple city softball leagues. Dave was inducted into the Connecticut Softball Hall of Fame in October 2022. He was truly the life of the party, whether surrounded by friends or simply one-on-one. His quick wit, playful sense of humor, and clever one-liners could always bring laughter to those around him. He was affectionately known to most as “Dave the Rave,” sharing his love for music and DJing throughout the Connecticut area.
In addition of his wife Anne, David leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Erica D’Agostino (Anthony Berardi) of Milford, son, David A. D’Agostino Jr. (Christina) of Derby, proud “Pop -Pop” to grandchildren, Gia Louise, Mila Rae and Dominic Angelo, who lovingly called him “Apa”. His grandchildren were truly the sparkle in his eyes and brought him endless joy. He also leaves his brother “from another mother” Patrick Paulson Sr. (Kathy) of East Haven along with many cherished family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday, May 18, 2026, by meeting directly at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 212 Elizabeth Street in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial.
