Daniel J. Sabatini, age 80 of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Patricia Malec Sabatini, died peacefully on May 22, 2026 at Griffin Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in Derby on February 2, 1946, he was the son of the late Eben and Ida Marchetti Sabatini.  Mr. Sabatini was raised in Shelton and was a 1964 graduate of Shelton High School where he was a member of the basketball team and practiced the martial art of Judo.

Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and became a “Green Beret” serving in the U.S. Army Special Operation Command Forces in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, among other accolades.  Following his military service, Mr. Sabatini graduated from the CT School of Electronics and worked as an electronic technician for PerkinElmer, Inc. for 20 years.

He then owned and operated the D.J. Vending Company, leasing, servicing and maintaining electronic gaming machines and vending machines throughout CT, until his retirement in 2005.

Mr. Sabatini was a lifelong animal lover, enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, building Ham radios, but above all, he treasured spending time with his granddaughters.  He stayed well informed on both world and local events through his interest in broadcasts, news and communications.

He is survived by his devoted son, Jeffrey D. Sabatini and his wife Kate of Seymour; his cherished granddaughters, Kaelyn G. and Jenna K.
