Seymour police received 265 calls for service and made two arrests.
MAY 18, 2026
9:58 a.m. Police conducted traffic enforcement on Bungay Road for about 30 minutes and made two motor vehicle stops.
2:32 p.m. A resident reported a case of identity theft to police after receiving a letter in the mail claiming he owed $5,000.
6:07 p.m. A Balance Rock Road resident told police a package that was delivered to her apartment was opened and destroyed by a neighbor.
9:38 p.m. An Emma Street resident told police there was a suspicious person in their backyard with a flashlight. An officer checked the yard and did not find anyone.

11:31 a.m. A West Street resident told police someone duplicated her company’s website and was sending fake invoices to customers.
12:54 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Maple and Pearl streets. No injuries were reported.
1:42 p.m. A resident told police she was scammed out of $5,000.
6:41 p.m. A caller told police someone on a moped was driving erratically on Skokorat Street near Chatfield-LoPresti School. Police said the moped was gone upon their arrival.
7:22 p.m. A Colony Road resident told police she has been receiving harassing phone calls from her husband’s brother.
9:27 p.m. A DeForest Street resident told police someone was parked in a red sports car near dumpsters playing loud music. Police said the individual was gone upon their arrival.

11:34 a.m. A Smith Street resident told police her cell phone was stolen from her unlocked vehicle.
12:47 p.m. A caller told police a trailer and a bumper were blocking the road on Roosevelt Drive.
2:46 p.m. A school bus driver with All-Star Transportation reported a physical fight between students on the bus that resulted in facial injuries.
4:27 p.m. Police charged a 31-year-old Kent man with failure to drive in the proper lane, use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

6:25 a.m. A North Benham Road resident told police a tree fell across his driveway and onto his son’s car.
12:40 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Canfield Road.
4:37 p.m. A Second Avenue resident told police a neighbor has been harassing her children.
7:14 p.m. Police charged Rana Iqbal, 41, of Seymour, with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane. Iqbal was arrested on Moss Avenue.
MAY 22, 2026
5:36 a.m. A Jefferson Street resident told police someone smashed the window of his garage and stole his motorcycle. Derby police located the motorcycle near McConney’s Grove in Derby.
9:16 a.m. A report was received about a dog running around Great Hill and Chucta roads.
9:17 a.m. A caller told police a group of veterans were fundraising at the Dunkin Donuts drive-thru in the Tri-Town Plaza on Derby Avenue and someone in the drive-thru line was yelling and shouting vulgarities at the veterans. Police said the individual was gone upon their arrival.
11:45 a.m. Police conducted radar on Bungay Road.
4:38 p.m. A caller told police someone driving a maroon Honda sedan dumped garbage on Haddad Road.
7:08 p.m. An employee with Teddy Bear Treehouse learning center on South Main Street told police a racoon was stuck in the dumpster all day long. An office advised the employee to keep the dumpster open so the raccoon could escape.

4:01 a.m. A New Haven Road resident told police his vehicle was stolen but was later located in Norwalk.
8:38 a.m. Police were called to a residence on Mountain Road for a medical emergency.
1:13 p.m. A caller told police he was concerned about an elderly man on River Street. Police said the man was gone upon their arrival.
6:30 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Reservoir Manor for a medical emergency.
MAY 24, 2026
2:06 p.m. A caller told police a wire was on fire near Bank and Main streets. Police said the report was unfounded.
3:03 p.m. Police received a report of two dogs being dumped on Rimmon Road. The animal control officer was notified and a volunteer from Woodbridge Animal Control picked up the dogs.
7:19 p.m. Police conducted traffic enforcement on Roosevelt Drive.
9:59 p.m. A caller told police someone was driving erratically and swerving over the double yellow lines in the road on Roosevelt Drive. Police said the driver was gone upon their arrival.
11:42 p.m. A Maple Street resident told police a man was laying on the ground outside of her apartment. Police said the man required medical attention and was transported to the hospital.

9:10 a.m. Police were called to a residence on Chestnut Street for a medical emergency.
3:58 p.m. Police conducted traffic enforcement on Skokorat Street.
4:41 p.m. A caller told police someone was riding a dirt bike near Rolling Hills Drive and the noise was keeping his baby awake. Police said the rider was gone upon their arrival.
10:32 p.m. Police received a complaint from a Garden Street resident about loud music playing in the area.
