Monday, May 25, 2026

4:04 a.m. Officers were called to Hubbell Avenue for a report of harassment/threatening.

10:30 a.m. During a traffic stop on Main Street, an officer issued a citation to a driver for operating an unregistered vehicle, failing to obey traffic control signals, failing to insure a vehicle, and improper use of a license or registration plate.

5:45 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street.

12:25 p.m. Police received a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Father Salemi Drive.

2:43 p.m. Police charged a 23-year-old Ansonia man with second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with an emergency call on Woodbridge Avenue.

5:44 p.m. Police charged a 66-year-old Ansonia man with fifth-degree larceny on Fourth Street.

6:47 p.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Root Avenue.

7:45 p.m. Police were called to South Cliff Street for a report of disorderly conduct.

8:04 p.m. Police charged Jaysen Dease, 24, of Derby, with two counts of second-degree strangulation/suffocation, first-degree unlawful restraint, and two counts of risk of injury to a child on Seventh Street.

2:59 a.m. Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Main Street.

5:42 a.m. Police were called to assist another agency on Beaver Street, near the Seymour town line.

7:29 a.m. Police charged a 20-year-old Ansonia woman with three counts of risk of injury to a child, and one count of first-degree trespassing. The charges were processed at the police station on Main Street.

2:07 p.m. Officers charged a 29-year-old Seymour man with two counts of illegal possession of a large capacity magazine. The charges were processed at the police station on Main Street.

5:01 p.m. Police responded to a civil matter on North State Street.

5:49 p.m. Police charged a 58-year-old Ansonia woman with four counts of sixth-degree larceny on Sheasby Road.

12:34 a.m. An officer issued a citation to a driver for operating an unregistered vehicle, failure to obey traffic control signals, failure to insure a vehicle, and improper use of a license or registration plate during a traffic stop near Main Street and Kingston Drive.

8:35 a.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pershing Drive.

12:48 a.m. Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle on Dempsey Court.

9:25 p.m. Police charged Christopher Standberry, 32, of New Haven, with attempted second-degree burglary, carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree threatening, second-degree trespassing,  disorderly conduct, and attempted third-degree criminal mischief. The charges were processed at the police station on Main Street.

11 p.m. Police charged a 49-year-old Ansonia man with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct on Clifford Drive.

2:41 a.m. Police charged a 24-year-old Waterbury man with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree criminal mischief on Lester Street.

6:44 a.m. Police received a report of a stolen vehicle on Central Street.

12:19 p.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.

1:29 p.m. Police received a report of a stolen license plate on Pershing Drive.

2:51 p.m. Police received a report of a disabled vehicle near the fire marshal’s office on Pulaski Highway.

10:23 a.m. Police received reports of hazardous road conditions on Elm Street and Benz Street.

12:21 p.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Johnson Street.

2:13 p.m. Officers and firefighters were called to Beaver Street after a tree fell and knocked down a power line, sparking a brush fire.

3:14 p.m. Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle on Gardners Lane.

8:25 p.m. Officers responded to a report of vandalism/destruction on Sobin Drive.

9:11 p.m. An officer responded to a report of shoplifting from Target on West Main Street.
