SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from June 8, 2026 through June 14, 2026.

Seymour police received 252 calls for service and made 12 arrests.

JUNE 8, 2026

2:42 a.m. A caller told police there was a snapping turtle in the middle of a parking lot on DeForest Street and was concerned it was going to get run over. Police said they were unable to locate the turtle.  

11:34 a.m. Police charged a 21-year-old Bridgeport man with operating a motor vehicle without a license.

5:10 p.m. Police were called to Lucky Deli’s on Maple Street for a medical emergency.

6:18 p.m. A Smith Street resident told police he received a suspicious package containing a white, powdery substance. The resident told police he wasn’t expecting a package. Police said emergency officials were notified and DEEP was called. DEEP tested the substance and told police the substance was a stainless steel cleaning product.

11:39 p.m. Police were called to an area near New Haven Road (Route 67) and Spruce Street for a verbal dispute.   

JUNE 9, 2026

6 a.m. Police received multiple 911 calls about a motorcycle hitting a deer near Shady Knoll on Skokorat Street.

10:50 a.m. A caller told police that while she was walking her dog on Derby Avenue she and her dog were attacked by a neighbor’s dog.

1:04 p.m. Police charged Franklyn J. Diaz Arias, 26, of the Bronx, NYC, with first-degree robbery.

3:25 p.m. A Cedar Street resident told police his week whacker was stolen overnight.

8:52 p.m. A Main Street resident reported an odor of smoke in the building. Police said the odor was coming from cigarettes in a flower pot.

JUNE 10, 2026

1:48 a.m. Police conducted radar on Great Hill and Botsford roads.

10:17 a.m. Police charged a 46-year-old Seymour woman with illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension.

11:37 a.m. Police charged a 20-year-old Seymour woman with failure to obey a stop sign.

1:21 p.m. Police were called to McDonald’s on Bank Street for a verbal dispute between the restaurant manager and a customer.

4:30 p.m. Police charged a 61-year-old Oxford man with use of drug paraphernalia and first-offense possession of a controlled substance.

JUNE 11, 2026

9:16 a.m. Police charged a 38-year-old Seymour woman with having improper rear marker lamps.

10:21 a.m. Police charged a 27-year-old Seymour man with second-degree failure to appear, illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension and failure to obey traffic signals.

4:34 p.m. A caller told police a car was stuck in the middle of the intersection on Broad Street

5:12 p.m. A caller reported a large tree was down on Fountain Lake Road near the Ansonia line.

6:10 p.m. A Pearl Street resident told police her neighbor peed behind her house.

JUNE 12, 2026

12:24 p.m. Police were called to Shady Knoll nursing facility on Skokorat Street for a medical emergency,

2:21 p.m. A caller told police he left his phone in the bathroom at Dunkin Donuts on Derby Avenue and it was gone when he went back to get it.

4:30 p.m. A Derby Avenue resident told police a dog was outside barking all day and because it was hot outside, he was concerned about the dog. An officer contacted the owner who brought the dog back inside.

11:37 p.m. A Third Avenue resident told police her neighbors were making a lot of noise. Police said there were no issues.

JUNE 13, 2026

7:38 a.m. A caller told police there was a vehicle “buried in the woods” on Cemetery Road.

8:57 a.m. Police charged a 31-year-old New Fairfield man with failure to renew registration.

11:51 a.m. A caller told police there was a loose dog roaming near the cemetery on Derby Avenue.

5:27 p.m. Police were called to Klarides Village Plaza on Bank Street for a report of several individuals riding around on mopeds and bikes, with one of them carrying a young child on the back. Police said there were 10-12 scooters with adult operators who were headed back to Southbury after stopping to use the bathroom at McDonald’s.   

JUNE 14, 2026

8:05 a.m. Police observed traffic on Carriage Drive and Bungay Road for potential stop sign violations.

9:29 a.m. Police charged a 34-year-old Oxford woman with traveling unreasonably fast.

12:32 p.m. A Walnut Street resident told police a package that was delivered to his residence was stolen.

3:30 p.m. An employee of Zois Pizza on Main Street told police there was an intoxicated man in the restaurant that was causing issues.

5:54 p.m. A caller told police his son threatened him with a knife.
