SEYMOUR – Here are highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from July 13, 2026 through July 19, 2026.
Seymour police received 229 calls for service and made six arrests.
JULY 13, 2026
12:45 a.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a woman who told them she was being stalked at the Wendy’s restaurant on Bank Street.
3:03 a.m. A Peach Drive resident reported that his car was stolen.
11:23 a.m. A town employee told police a white male in his 30s was passed out or disoriented in the back of a van on Humphreys Street. Police said the man was OK.
5:53 p.m. Police charged 44-year-old Mariano Colon of Derby with possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, risk of injury to a child, third-degree burglary/criminal attempt, first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree breach of peace and criminal violation of a restraining order.
Police said they were called about a domestic incident involving a man who attempted to force his way into a residence on Bungay Road with a baseball bat.
Police said there was a child inside the residence. No injuries were reported.
Police said they also found PCP in Colon’s car. His bond was set at $100,000 and he’s due in court Aug. 26.
JULY 14, 2026
8:13 a.m. A caller told police a baby deer was struck by a car on Roosevelt Drive (Route 34). Police said the deer was gone upon their arrival.
8:25 a.m. An employee at Henny Penny gas station told police someone ran over a stop sign on the property.
12:45 p.m. A caller told police there was a dog alone in a car in a Toyota Camry for an extended period of time in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. Police said the car window was open and the air inside wasn’t that hot. When the owner returned to the car, they were advised by police to use better judgement.
9:36 p.m. Police charged a 32-year-old Oxford man with use of drug paraphernalia and first-offense possession of a controlled substance.
JULY 15, 2026
12:22 p.m. Police were called to Roosevelt Drive (Route 34) for a medical emergency.
4:14 p.m. A Roosevelt Drive resident told police someone was dumping trash bags and scrap metal at the Eagle Scout Landing pavilion. Police said they would step up patrols in the area.
7:07 p.m. A resident requested a police escort to Pub 67 to pick up a dog involved in a custody battle. Police said the matter was resolved civilly.
JULY 16, 2026
8:59 a.m. Police received a 911 hang-up call from Chatfield-LoPresti School. The main office called police to confirm it was a misdial.
9:44 a.m. A resident told police he found an Apple air tag in the back of his truck.
6:04 p.m. A Brookfield Road resident told police his license plate was stolen.
9:45 p.m. Police were called about a large tarp on Holbrook Road causing a hazard.
JULY 17, 2026
12:06 p.m. A caller told police a tree fell and was blocking both lanes of Progress Avenue.
1:19 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Holbrook Road.
4:29 p.m. Police charged Sarah Stroud, 34, of Seymour, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating a motor vehicle with unsafe tires.
8:15 p.m. Police charged a 36-year-old Joseph Mollo of Seymour with third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, and first-degree threatening/displaying a firearm.
Police said they were called to a residence on New Street for a domestic incident. Police alleged Mollo pointed a gun at another person’s head. they said a man pointed a handgun at his girlfriend’s head. Minor injuries were reported. Mollo was scheduled to appear in court July 20.
10:56 p.m. A Gilyard Street resident told police he was not home, but his home surveillance camera showed five juveniles pounding on his front door, which set the camera off. Police said the individuals were gone upon their arrival.
JULY 18, 2026
10:09 a.m. Police were called to a residence on Meadow Street for a medical emergency.
1:17 p.m. A South Main Street resident told police a pole across from her residence was sparking and she lost power. Police said Frontier was notified.
7:10 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident in the area of Henny Penny gas station on New Haven Road (Route 67).
7:48 p.m. An employee from Stop & Shop on Franklin reported that someone stole alcohol from the store.
JULY 19, 2026
12:24 a.m. A Chucta Road resident told police there was a tree down in the road.
3:24 a.m. Police were called to a residence on Birchwood Road for a medical emergency.
8:04 a.m. Police received a report of a dog roaming on Botsford Road. The dog was returned to its owner.
9:03 a.m. Police charged a 43-year-old Seymour man with violation of a protective order.
12:18 p.m. A Birchwood Road told police he was a victim of a scam.
5 p.m. A Pearl Street resident told police a man stumbled out of the woods and onto her property. Police said the man was intoxicated and was voluntarily transported to the hospital.
