SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Aug. 3, 2026 through Aug. 9, 2026.
Seymour police received 266 calls and made three arrests.
AUG. 3, 2026
8:28 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a one-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Old Ansonia Road and Maple Street. No injuries were reported.
2:14 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a South Main Street resident about issues with his landlord.
2:45 p.m. A caller told police multiple headstones were knocked over/vandalized in the cemetery on Cemetery Road.
3:17 p.m. Police charged a 52-year-old Seymour woman with first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief.
9:50 p.m. Police were called to the Reservoir Manor Apartments for a medical emergency.
AUG. 4, 2026
7:25 a.m. Police charged a 28-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening.
6:01 p.m. Seymour EMS notified police that several traffic signs were down at the intersection of Rimmon and Clinton roads.
6:25 p.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement on Pond Street.
7:22 p.m. A DeForest Street resident reported they were bitten by a dog.
AUG. 5, 2026
9:32 a.m. Police conducted radar enforcement on Mountain Road.
12:01 p.m. Police received a 911 hang-up call from Bungay School. The school principal confirmed it was a misdial.
12:21 p.m. A Davis Road resident reported a break-in on his property.
9:37 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Squantuck Road for a medical emergency.
AUG. 6, 2026
12:18 a.m. A Dauria Drive resident told police multiple vehicles were racing in the road and yelling. Police said the vehicles were gone upon their arrival.
9:55 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Skokorat Street for about 20 minutes. No motor vehicle violations were observed.
11:27 a.m. An employee of Henny Penny asked police to remove a man who was bothering customers.
12:06 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Maple Street at Warren Drive for about 25 minutes. No motor vehicle violations were observed.
3:39 p.m. A resident told police his credit card was hacked.
9:11 p.m. Police were called about an alarm sounding at a residence on North Benham Road.
AUG. 7, 2026
12 p.m. Police were called about a disabled tractor trailer truck at the intersection of Cogwheel Lane and New Haven Road (Route 67).
12:43 p.m. A Hemlock Road resident told police someone riding a Segway was trying to sell something in the area. Police said the individual was advised they must obtain a permit to solicit.
5:48 p.m. A caller told police smoke was coming from a house across from Seybridge Plaza on New Haven Road (Route 67). Police said the homeowner was working on his car in the garage and there were no issues.
5:49 p.m. A caller told police someone left a dog inside a dark green Ford Ranger with the window slightly cracked in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. Police made contact with the owner who said he was in the store for only a few minutes and was able to crack only one window because the passenger side window was broken. Police said the dog did not appear to be distressed.
AUG. 8, 2026
1:41 a.m. A Colony Road resident reported a large tree down in the road.
2:17 a.m. A caller told police someone threatened him at Boland’s Café. Police said the caller was intoxicated, and there were no threats made against him.
7:25 a.m. Police charged a 31-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct.
1:50 p.m. Police assisted a disabled motor vehicle on Broad Street.
4:10 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bunting Road.
9:09 p.m. A Stoddard Street resident told police someone was shooting fireworks in the area. Police scanned the neighborhood and said there were no signs of fireworks being shot off.
AUG. 9, 2026
7:45 a.m. A Second Avenue resident told police she was not home at the time, but her surveillance camera caught someone stealing a Yeti cooler off her front porch.
7:57 a.m. A Main Street resident told police someone broke into his car and tampered with the ignition.
8:56 a.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident who said she tried to buy a cat on Facebook and was scammed out of $40.
5:13 p.m. A caller told police someone in a black Chevrolet SUV was driving erratically on New Haven Road (Route 67.) Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
6:14 p.m. A caller told police they were concerned about a dog left inside a vehicle in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. The caller said the windows were open, but it was very hot outside. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
