William Darrell Bostic, age 70, beloved husband of Valerie M. Elmore Greene-Bostic of
Waterbury, died August 7, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital following a sudden illness. Born
in Derby on September 21, 1955, he was the son of the late Grover Dennis Bostic, Sr.
and Shirley Marguerite Durant.

Mr. Bostic was raised in Ansonia and was a 1973 graduate of Ansonia High School. He was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Mr. Bostic began a long and successful career in telecommunications with SNET and evolved through the SBC and AT&T takeovers, until 2014, when he took a position as a D.E.G. Technician for Frontier Communications. He will be long remembered for his special love and devotion for his family, always putting the needs of others above his own.

In addition to his spouse of 29 years, he is survived by his devoted stepchildren, Shondell Greene and her husband, Bryan Evans of VA and Raymond Elmore of Seymour; sisters, Sharon Bostic of CT, Claretta Holland of NC, Denise Moore and her husband, Jake of NC; brothers, Grover Dennis Bostic , Jr. and his wife Sharon of Ansonia, Owen Bostic and his wife Polly of Ansonia and David Bostic and his wife Sandra of CT; cherished grandchildren,
Marquis Witcher of VA and Jazzlyn Kwapong of MD; as well as many dear nieces and
nephews.

Family and friends may call on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon at the Clinton AME Zion Church, 96 Central Street, Ansonia. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
