ANSONIA — Firefighters and city officials gathered Aug. 10 to recognize the responders who came to the most calls over the last year.

“The Ansonia Fire Department was proud to recognize our Top 10 Responders for their outstanding commitment and dedication to answering the call throughout the year,” the department said in a Facebook post.

The top 10 responders were:

  • Jeff Gould, 653 calls
  • Miklos Hary, 382 calls
  • James Tanner, 380 calls
  • Mark Nimons Sr., 373 calls
  • Brandon Czabala, 355 calls
  • Timothy Lembo, 352 calls
  • Matthew Pitney, 329 calls
  • Christopher Godfrey, 300 calls
  • Mark Owen, 274 calls
  • Joseph Kingston, 272 calls

Also recognized in the ceremony were three junior firefighters who graduated into the full department and received probationary shields.

Mayor Frank Tyszka handed out the awards and posed for photos, along with Alderwoman Lisa Glazer, who serves on the fire commission.
