SEYMOUR — Here are selected calls for service that came into the Seymour Police Department. The blotter covers Aug. 10, 2026 through Aug. 16, 2026.
Monday, Aug. 10
12:10 a.m. — A driver was warned for going too fast in the area of West Street and Mountain Road.
6:28 a.m. — A caller reported that two people were seen on his security camera trying to get into vehicles parked in his driveway on Evergreen Terrace. Nothing was taken from the vehicles. Police searched the area but could not find the suspects.
7:13 a.m. — A burglar alarm went off at a house on Kathy Drive. The homeowner said it was an accident.
9:20 a.m. — A caller said that security video showed people trying to get into her vehicle at 6:12 a.m. on Rolling Hills Drive. Nothing was taken from the parked vehicles. The suspect’s vehicle was a black Hyundai with tinted tail lights.
9:24 a.m. — A caller reported his security camera showed people trying to get into his vehicle parked on Glen Circle at 8:12 a.m. The vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was taken. Two suspects wearing face masks left in a silver Hyundai.
9:42 a.m. — A resident came to the police department to report that the resident’s vehicle was rummaged through overnight on Bunting Road. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
9:48 a.m. — A caller from Red Oak Lane reported that her surveillance video at 6:09 a.m. showed a dark sedan pulling up to her driveway. A person wearing a mask tried to get into parked cars. Vehicles were locked, nothing was taken.
11:26 a.m. — A caller from Eleanor Road reported that her vehicle was rummaged through at about 6:23 a.m. Nothing was taken. Her vehicle may have been unlocked. A neighbor spotted what was happened and “shooed” the suspects away. The neighbor said the vehicle was from out-of-state.
11:51 a.m. — Police received a 911 call from a motorist on Route 8. The caller said she had hit bumps on the highway causing her phone to accidentally dial 911.
3:20 p.m. — A caller reported a RV was parked on Bank Street.
5:02 p.m. — A woman came to the police department to report she was scammed out of $440,000.
5:13 p.m. — A caller reported that an ambulance struck a vehicle on Smith Street.
Tuesday, Aug. 11
8:11 a.m. — A caller reported that her vehicle broke down near the intersection of Pearl and Maple streets. The vehicle was pushed into a parking lot and a tow truck was contacted.
8:21 a.m. — A two-car crash was reported in the area of New Haven Road and North Street.
12:38 p.m. — A caller from Meadow Estates on Westwood Drive reported e-bikes were trespassing on his property. The caller was advised to call police the next time it happened.
5:31 p.m. — Police set up a traffic enforcement detail in the area of Rimmon Road and Clinton Road.
6:20 p.m. — A woman came to the police station to report harassing text messages from her ex-boyfriend.
6:58 p.m. — A caller from the area of George Street and Farrell Street said he saw dirt bikes traveling at an estimated 80 to 90 mph. Patrol checked the area to no avail.
7:46 p.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Bunting Road.
8:25 p.m. — Police assisted with a medical emergency on Wakely Street. An intoxicated person was taken to Griffin Hospital.
8:45 p.m. — Police set up a stop sign enforcement detail in the area of Pond Street and Pearl Street.
9:45 p.m. — A motor vehicle crash was reported on Roosevelt Drive.
Wednesday, Aug. 12
1:29 a.m. — Police received a report of suspicious activity on New Haven Road near the exit 22 ramp. Police brought two juveniles back to their residences.
4:11 a.m. — A caller said someone was in his driveway attempting to get into his vehicles. An officer spotted a silver Hyundai in the area and attempted to stop it, but it fled the scene.
6:38 a.m. — A caller reported a tree was blocking a travel lane in the area of Haddad Road and Silvermine Road. The Seymour Department of Public Works was notified.
7:34 p.m. — Police set up a speed detail on Bungay Road.
8:49 p.m. — Police conducted a welfare check on a person from Botsford Road. All was well.
9:29 p.m. — Seymour police were called to help with a manhunt in Derby for a group of people who struck a patrol car and then ran into the woods. Two juveniles were arrested.
11:25 p.m. — A caller from Skokorat Road reported that someone has been stealing copper from his property.
Thursday, Aug. 13
12:08 a.m. — Police received a report of suspicious activity in the Klarides Village parking lot. Patrol said it was an Uber driver napping between calls.
12:33 a.m. — Shannonlynn Hannon, 31, of Seymour, was charged with operating under the influence on New Haven Road. She’s due in court Aug. 27.
7:00 a.m. — A stolen vehicle was left on Kathy Drive. The two men who left it had been spotted checking car door handles. They left in a red truck. The stolen car left behind belonged to a resident in Wallingford. Police there were notified.
1:48 p.m. — A fight was reported on the sidewalk near Jimmie’s on Main Street. Kareem Kenyatta Antrim, 50, of Seymour, was charged with breach of peace, threatening, and attempted assault. He is due in Superior Court in Derby on Sept. 16.
7:35 p.m. — Police set up a stop sign enforcement detail in the area of Beecher Street and West Street.
9:30 p.m. — Owen Allen Coventry, 23, of Darien, was charged with driving under the influence after being stopped on Route 8 north near exit 22. He is due in court Aug. 27.
Friday, Aug. 14
9:11 a.m. — An accidental 911 call was received from Meadow Woods Road.
11:13 a.m. — A two-car crash was reported on Franklin Street.
11:36 a.m. — A burglar alarm was triggered on Birchwood Road. A family member on scene said it was accidental.
1:53 p.m. — A woman walked into the police department saying she had found checkbooks on the ground on Mead Farm Road. Police determined the account was connected to a person who passed away and that the account was closed. Police destroyed the checks.
8:16 p.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Skokorat Road.
Saturday, Aug. 15
9:08 a.m. — A two-car crash was reported in the area of New Haven Road and Skokorat Street. No injuries were reported.
12:00 p.m. — A person from a local business came to the police station to report an employee of the business stole $500 worth of items. The store was not named.
1:47 p.m. — A caller from the area of Pearl Street and Grand Street reported that a person using a hoverboard was going door-to-door saying he was from Ion Energy. It was the second report of a solicitor going door-to-door on a hoverboard. The employee and his company was contacted saying they needed a permit.
5:33 p.m. — A caller from Dock 34 on Roosevelt Drive reported that a customer was kicked out of the establishment for disturbing customers. The person left, and then came back, according to the caller. The suspect was identified as Joel Bernard Campbell, 43, of Seymour. He was charged with interfering, breach of peace, and threatening. He allegedly told police he paid his bar tab and didn’t know what the issue was.
Sunday, Aug. 16
3:51 a.m. — A caller reported hearing a loud boom and then seeing what looked like an old Camaro dragging plastic and leaking fluids in the area of Spruce Street and North Street. Police searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.
2:13 p.m. — A resident from Buckingham Road reported that tire rims were stolen from his shed.
5:38 p.m. — A crash was reported on Route 8. Police shut down an onramp so the vehicles could be cleared. State police reported two people from the crash ran from the scene.
10:42 p.m. — An officer went to Klarides Village to help a person who was trying to capture a liter of kittens.
