Thomas Sullivan, age 83, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Magdalene Sullivan, died peacefully on August 22, 2026.
Born in Greeley, Colorado on February 20, 1943, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Velda Lillian Angell Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was raised in Colorado and was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Mr. Sullivan made his home in Connecticut and was employed by the Southern CT Gas Company for many years, until the time of his retirement.
A skilled handyman, Mr. Sullivan applied his talents to fix just about anything. He frequently enjoyed home improvement projects and the accomplishment of building things of use. He was a man who could “make it do” and rarely had to do without.
Born and raised in the plains and mountains of the west, he was a passionate outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting throughout the seasons.
He is survived by his devoted sons, Christopher T. Sullivan and his wife Jennifer of Northford and Kerry E. Sullivan and his wife Jennifer Tam of Newton, MA; cherished grandsons, Sammy and Dean Sullivan of MA; dear friend, Ted Dunton and his wife, Pat of Shelton; and his loving companion and care giver, Mary Masciola of Ansonia.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Navy and the CT National Guard at 7:00 PM.
