This information comes from a website that tracks and transcribes emergency radio transmissions. The Valley Indy is participating in the site’s beta testing.

The incidents below are the initial calls for service — meaning the first contact the dispatcher received when a person called.

It covers Monday, Aug. 24 through Sunday, Aug. 30.

MONDAY, AUG. 24

1:07 a.m. — A motor vehicle crash with injuries was reported on Roosevelt Drive near the Seymour border.

12:24 p.m. — A minor motor vehicle accident was reported in the parking lot of Quest Diagnosis on Seymour Avenue.

5:56 p.m. — EMS was sent to help a child having an asthma attack on Hawthorne Avenue.

TUESDAY, AUG. 25

6:09 a.m. — A medical emergency was reported at an apartment on Derby Avenue.

6:30 p.m. — A caller reported a suspicious person near an apartment complex on Derby Avenue.

3:46 p.m. — EMS was sent to Seymour Avenue to help a person who was having trouble breathing.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 26

8:23 a.m. — A caller reported two people took drinks that were not theirs from Starbucks. The suspects are believed to be living out of their vehicle.

8:55 a.m. — A dog bite was reported in Osbornedale State Park. 

3:11 p.m. — A two-car crash was reported in the area of Jennings Street and Derby Avenue.

6:41 p.m. — A caller reported an erratic driver on Main Street near Home Depot.

8:55 p.m. — Police responded to the area of Hawthorne Avenue and Cherry Street after receiving a report of a pickup truck operating erratically.

9:02 p.m. — Storm Ambulance and Rescue reported a loose dog showed up at their building on Olivia Street.

11:29 p.m. — A caller reported a woman screaming for help on Anson Street.

THURSDAY, AUG. 27

12:34 a.m. — Police and EMS responded to Anson Street for a report of a woman with laceration to her head.

8:23 a.m. — An assault was reported in the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue. The victim was female. The “100 block” means the address is between 100 and 199. The Valley Indy often withholds specific addresses in police blotters.

10:12 p.m. — A natural gas odor was reported at a multi-family residence on Elizabeth Street.

10:29 a.m. — An officer reported two people set up an “elaborate camp” near Planet Fitness off Pershing Drive.

11:22 p.m. — Fire and EMS responded to a CO alarm at a Hawthorne Avenue residence.

12:08 p.m. — EMS was sent to a medical emergency on Academy Hill Road.

FRIDAY, AUG. 28

9:32 a.m. — A business from Thompson Place reported vandalism.

5:55 p.m. — A hit-and-run crash was reported on Roosevelt Drive. Police were looking for a blue car with front-end damage.

6:00 p.m. — A caller reported a person was using binoculars on the Derby-Shelton bridge. The caller was worried the person was trying to look into apartment windows.

9:40 p.m. — A ticket was issued to a motorist near the intersection of Main and Factory streets in downtown Derby.

9:45 p.m. — A caller reported a medical emergency at the Derby dam. The caller said a person was slouched over in a car parked at that location. EMS was sent to the scene.

11:03 a.m. — A person from Water Street called in a noise complaint.

11:02 p.m. — Police issued a ticket to a motorist at the intersection of Gilbert Street and Derby Avenue.

SATURDAY, AUG. 29

1:02 a.m. — A burglar alarm was triggered at Ollie’s on New Haven Avenue.

1:51 a.m. — A caller reported people causing a disturbance at a residence on Emmett Avenue.

9:12 p.m. — Police responded to a noise complaint on Silver Hill Road.

SUNDAY, AUG. 30

12:58 a.m. — Police responded to a noise complaint from New Haven Avenue.

11:36 a.m. — EMS was sent to a medical emergency on Prairie Avenue.

7:04 p.m. — A caller with a leg injury was reported on Marshall Lane.
