DERBY — The City of Derby sent along the following notice. The transfer station was damaged Sunday after rainstorms caused a tree to fall on a trailer and the station’s scale.
There were no injuries as the station was closed.
Derby Transfer Station Reopening Notice
The Derby Transfer Station, located at 80 Pine Street, will reopen on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Until further notice, it will operate with the limitations listed below.
Current limitations:
Accepted items for Derby residents only:
Household waste and regular garbage.
Cardboard and recyclables.
Brush and yard waste.
Not accepted at this time:
Construction debris and other chargeable items will not be accepted while the scale is damaged and without power.
