William Thomas Robinson, age 83, beloved husband of Helen Mary Scanlon Robinson of Shelton, died peacefully on January 1, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Derby on November 15, 1942, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Helen Delores Robillard Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was raised in Ansonia, attended Assumption School and graduated from Ansonia High School. He worked as a truck driver for the Pace Motor Lines Co., for many years and then for C.R. Gibson Co., until the time of his retirement. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants.
In addition to his spouse of 44 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Glenn Robinson of Niantic, Brenda Robinson of FL, David Robinson and his wife, Patricia of Beacon falls and Thomas Robinson of Ansonia; cherished grandchildren, Morgan Robinson of Beacon Falls and Joseph Covino of Ansonia; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, William Thomas Robinson, Jr.; a sister, Jean Dallager and brothers, Harry and Edward Robinson.
Private graveside services will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
