Sharon May Venice, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother sister, and friend passed away on March 26, 2026. In Woodbridge CT. She was born on May 3, 1943, in Watertown, the daughter of the late Owen and Lois (Vanderoef) Carey.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 63 years Girard “Jerry” Venice; her son Christopher
Venice (Joyce) and their children Nicole Kalita (Robert) and Evan Venice (Kristine) her daughter in law Diane Venice and her children David Venice (Taylor) and Jackie Laneuville
(Josh) , her sisters Judy Slowik (Bill), Charlene Carey as well as several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Gregory Venice and her brother Millard
Carey.
Sharon graduated from Derby High School in 1960. In addition, she raised her family in
Seymour. She worked for Olderman & Hallihan Insurance agency as an office manager and
retired with Jerry to North Carolina for the past 20 years continuing to volunteer and give
back to the community before returning to CT in 2024.
Sharon enjoyed bowling, golfing, knitting, and playing cards, along with the occasional trip to the casino. She had a special fondness for all things Mickey Mouse. Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends and was known for her fun-loving nature, she was always up for anything and never missed an opportunity to enjoy life.
The family will soon hold a private celebration of life. Donations can be made in Sharon’s
