ANSONIA — Former Ansonia Public School students who received special education services or Section 504 services, whose birthdates are January 1, 1998 through December 31, 1999, are hereby notified their records regarding special education services and Section 504 services will be destroyed on or after September 30, 2026.
In accordance with Section 7-109 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Ansonia Public Schools will destroy inactive special education and Section 504 records that retain all student records classified as special education and related services records or Section 504 records for six (6) years after the student turns 22 years old.
Any former special education students or Section 504 students or parent/guardian of a former special education or Section 504 student, who wish to obtain copies of these records prior to destruction, contact Nicole Newkirk at 203-736-5095 x1006.
These records may be useful for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance or other purposes.
Appropriate identification and, if applicable, consent or other authorization, will be required to receive copies of all records. All records will be destroyed on or after September 30, 2026.
