Drew McLean Curtiss, age 74, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, August 24, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was the devoted husband of 48 years to Nancy Jennifer George Curtiss. Drew was born in Derby on February 10, 1952, son of the late James G. Curtiss III and Janice McLean Curtiss, and was a lifelong resident of White Hills section of Shelton, Connecticut. Drew was the owner and operator of Woods Lightning Protection Installation, LLC for over 30 years. A true musician, Drew played many instruments, including guitar since he was 14 years old. Over his life, he wrote hundreds of songs, some of which he played as guitarist and lead singer for the Howling Barncats for the past 10 years. Drew was a lifelong farmer. He also enjoyed camping and hiking along with traveling out west with Nancy in their camper.

Drew was the beloved father of Jennifer Curtiss Nickle (husband James Nickle), and Janice Virginia Koch (husband John koch IV), loving grandfather of Julia Elizabeth Nickle, Jamison Curtiss Nickle, John “Jack” Francis Koch V, and Remington Curtiss Koch. Drew was the cherished brother of Cindy Curtiss Tsianco. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many dear friends.

On Thursday, August 27th friends are invited to go directly to the First Baptist Church of Shelton, 178 Leavenworth Rd., Shelton for his funeral service at 10:00 AM. His burial will follow at Lower White Hills Cemetery, 85 Maple Ave. Shelton.
