Yes — 831

No — 761

This was the third time the budget was put to voters.

The town’s tax rate is now 27.6 mills. A resident with a property assessed at $200,000 will see a tax bill increase of $168.

The spending plan today was $25,000 less than the budget voters rejected May 10.

Voters approved a $20.7 million town budget May 10.

The proposed school budget approved today carried a $677,000 increase over the school budget currently in place.

I’m very glad, very glad,” said Bruce Baker, a Republican member of the Board of Education, after the totals were announced.

A total of 1,592 voters cast ballots, meaning about 17 percent of the town’s total 9,533 eligible voters participated.

We are very happy. A lot of people worked hard to get the vote out,” said Kristen Harmeling, a Democratic member of the Board of Finance.
