The Derby Town Clerk’s office is collecting canned beans (not string beans) this month for the for St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank on Roosevelt Drive in Derby.
Please consider donating some beans by bringing them to the Town / City Clerk’s Office on the first floor of Derby City Hall at 1 Elizabeth St. by the end of October.
Derby City Hall staff has been organizing monthly food drives for the food bank since 2015.
After discussions with the operators of the Food Bank, we asked them for monthly suggestions for food collections to concentrate on what is in short supply. We decided that we would start a monthly collection of one specific item to help them feed those in need in our City and the Valley.
