The following information was posted on a gofundme page by Terri Goldson Sr. about a fundraising effort for a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Ansonia.
The City of Ansonia, Mayor David Cassetti and area churches are raising funds to place a bust of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Memorial Park in Ansonia.
A local artist Mr. Vasil Rakal from Derby, Ct. will design the bust. To our knowledge, Ansonia will be the second city in Connecticut to have this kind of display.
It is our hope that our citizens, businesses and friends will support this effort to show our unity, strength and community values through this endeavour.
