Oxford Greens Community Fights Breast Cancer

For the fourth year in a row, the community of The Village at Oxford Greens / Fairview, an active adult community, has organized a team to participate in a 5‑K race sponsored by Seymour Pink.

Seymour Pink is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to support breast cancer research and to directly support victims of breast cancer.

This year, the team surpassed its fundraising goal by collecting $10,001 in donations – almost triple the total of the previous three years combined.

The amazing total was largely due to the efforts of one committee member, Ellen Fox. The team, Oxford Greens Goes Pink” won the award for most monies raised. It also won the award for largest team (91 members) for the second year in a row.

The team included six breast cancer survivors. Two women and three men from the team placed in top three rankings within their age groups. The team plans on continuing this annual tradition to support this worthwhile cause in the fight against breast cancer.
