Oxford, Temple Can’t Be Stopped

Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller was spotted wearing an Oxford High School football jersey Tuesday (Dec. 3) after losing a bet over this year’s Oxford-Seymour football game.

The Wolverines, a new football program in the Valley, emerged victorious over Seymour, where Oxford students used to play prior to the opening of Oxford High School.

Oxford won the Oct. 19 game 27 – 6.

In a prepared statement, Temple said this could be the start of a very good rivalry between the two towns because both towns have respect for each other and both towns put a premium on sportsmanship.’‘

The jersey worn by Miller belongs to Temple’s son, Andy, who plays for Oxford football.
