Seymour Detectives Investigating Robbery At Movie Theater

A man armed with a knife robbed a concession stand at Entertainment Cinemas in Tri-Town Plaza Monday, Seymour police said Tuesday.

Police were called to the movie theater after receiving a 911 call at about 5 p.m.

A man pulled a knife on a concession worker and demanded money, according to a statement from police.

A struggle ensued, and a movie theater employee suffered several lacerations, according to police. 

However, the victim declined medical treatment.

The suspect took off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 5‑foot‑7, weighing 210 pounds.

He was wearing dark-colored pants, a black, knitted hat, a black hooded sweatshirt and a gray scarf wrapped around a portion of his face to conceal his identity, police said in a statement.

Upon leaving the cinema the male suspect left the area in a possible four (4) door, late model Black Nissan type vehicle with dark tinted windows and a clear plastic plate cover over the registration plate,” according to Lt. Paul Satkowski. Detectives processed the crime scene and recovered several pieces of evidence associated with the robbery.”

Detectives want to speak with anyone who may have been in the general area of the Tri-Town Plaza at the time of the robbery (between 4:30 and 5 p.m.).
