ANSONIA — An education advocacy group is teaming with the school district to provide tours of two city schools Friday (Nov. 2).
A tour of Mead School, 75 Ford St., will start at 10:30 a.m. and end at noon.
A tour of Ansonia Middle School, 115 Howard Ave., will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
In a press release, the group, The Friends of Ansonia Education, invited the general public, elected officials, and local candidates for office to attend.
“The best way to grasp the challenges the schools are facing right now is to witness these conditions firsthand,” the press release said. “Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with administrators and teachers about the current circumstances and discuss solutions.

In a separate announcement, Ansonia Public Schools Superintendent Carol Merlone said she and Business Manager Lisa Jones will be holding an “open conversation” at the school district’s central offices Saturday (Nov. 3) from 10 to 11 a.m.
The event will take place at the Central Office, lower level building, 42 Grove St.
“All parents/guardians and members of the Ansonia community are welcome to stop in,” Merlone’s announcement said.
