Ansonia has received a lot of attention for its economic revitalization efforts, from new businesses to new streets. Property values are rising and our city is being seen as a great investment opportunity.

Joe Jeanette I almost didn’t recognize you from the photo in your letter to the Valley Indy dated October 27, 2017 and I’m sure many of the voters weren’t able to distinguish who the real Joe Jeanette was from the rhetoric in the letter that accompanied that photo.

I am writing to set the record straight on education funding.
The truth is that Mayor Cassetti’s administration is funding our schools at a higher level than past years, and taxpayers are doing their fair share to support education.

Joseph Jeanette Jr
As an Alderman for 18 years, I have had the pleasure of representing the residents of Ansonia throughout both Republican and Democratic administrations.
I’m currently running for office as a Democratic candidate for the Board of Education. I have supported initiatives under both Republican and Democratic Mayors. It’s never been about politics for me, it’s about what’s right for Ansonia.

The two candidates for mayor in Ansonia answered questions from students during a “Meet the Candidates” event at the high school Wednesday.
The students posed questions to Democratic nominee Tarek Raslan and two-term Republican incumbent David Cassetti during the event, which was sponsored by the Ansonia Federation of Teachers.
In the run-up to the forum, Cassetti had not been expected to attend due to a scheduling conflict.
