Ansonia police arrested four men after raiding two apartments on Bassett Street Friday afternoon.
“These cases were a result of neighborhood complaints about suspected narcotics activity in and around the Bassett Street area,” according to a press release Monday from Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota.
Investigators had search warrants for apartments on the first floor of 13 Bassett St. and the second floor of 15 Bassett St.
Charles Silva, 25, Marquis Rumley, 24, and Maurice Perkins, 20, were arrested at the 13 Bassett St. residence.
Police said they seized $2,970 from the 13 Bassett St. apartment, along with 8.6 grams of marijuana, 15.3 grams of crack cocaine, 8.1 grams of heroin and materials used to manufacture narcotics.
Police also said they recovered a loaded .38 Special and numerous rounds of .22 caliber ammunition.
Silva, of Howard Avenue in New Haven, is being held on a $250,000 bond. Silva was charged with:
Two counts of possession of narcotics (crack cocaine and heroin)
Two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Two counts of possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school
Criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon
Rumley, of South Street in Ansonia, is being held on a $5,000 bond. Rumley was charged with:
Possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
Possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,500 of a school
Perkins, of Howard Avenue in Ansonia, is being held on a $5,000 bond. Perkins was charged with:
Possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
Possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school
Interfering with an officer/resisting arrest
Jermaine Gibson, 39, was arrested at the apartment within 15 Bassett St.
Police said they seized $787 from the address, along with 9.5 grams of marijuana and 2.8 grams of crack cocaine, along with manufacturing material.
Gibson is on parole, according to police, and is being held of a $100,000 bond.
Gibson was charged with:
Two counts of sale of narcotics
Two counts of possession within 1,500 feet of a school
Two counts of possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school
Possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
Possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,500 of a school
The raids happened at about 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19. with Ansonia police, a regional special response tactical unit and two Milford police dogs.
