Ansonia police are looking for a man who robbed the Webster Bank on Division Street Wednesday.

According to a statement from police, the man walked into the bank at about 3:40 p.m. and demanded money.

He did not show a weapon or make threats.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash — and a dye pack, which exploded in the parking lot leaving red dye on some of the money and the suspect,” police said.

The suspect left in a tan or light-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee.

He was described as being in his late 20s or early 30s.

Anyone with information should call the detective bureau at 203 735 1885.
