Shelton developer James Botti has forfeited $120,500 — one day before a federal court imposed deadline.
Botti was ordered to pay the money after his conviction in November for structuring — and conspiracy to structure — cash transactions.
Botti’s forfeiture payment was made to the U.S. District Court in New Haven on Thursday.
The payment was originally due in July.
Botti’s attorney, William Dow III, last month sought to get the due date extended by 60 days because money Botti was allegedly waiting for fell through at the last minute.
Judge Charles Haight denied the motion, and told Botti if he didn’t pay by August 6, the court would consider revoking his bond and incarcerating him until his Sept. 18 sentencing.
Botti is currently free on bond, awaiting sentencing for the structuring charges and a later conviction of mail fraud.
