Burglary at Lake House Restaurant In Seymour

Police are investigating a burglary over the weekend at the Lake House Bar & Grill on Roosevelt Drive.

Police did not release any information about the burglary, but owner Michele Zurko-Smith said thieves took a safe and about $2,000.

The thieves also took a large quantity of liquor, beer and other products, Zurko-Smith said.

The burglary took place at about 3 a.m. Saturday.

Zurko-Smith is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that results in the arrest of the criminals. She said any information will be kept confidential.

She said it appeared the thieves got into the restaurant by prying open a side door.

The restaurant’s security cameras captured images of the burglars and Zurko-Smith has turned over the tape to the police department, she said.

Zurko-Smith bought the restaurant four years ago. It had been known as the Riverside Restaurant for decades.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Seymour Police Department at 888‑7600.
